Completed in July 2024 St Mary’s Chanterlands is a 86 bedroom state of the art care facility for the elderly, with a vibrant and lively ambience and a safe and homely environment. The site offers easy access to local amenities and services and will help to make an important contribution to the requirement of elderly care accommodation in Hull.
The scheme achieved an EPC A rating and includes renewable technologies such as solar PV. Generous glazing and a shallow plan form was provided to reduce the need for artificial lighting in daylight hours and to provide a pleasant outlook for residents.
Internally a high specification fit out was provided. The reception area leads onto a café area with large windows bringing natural light into the heart of the ground floor and access doors directly onto the garden. There is a variety of different amenity spaces offering quiet lounges, carefully laid out dining rooms, salon and a garden room. Bedrooms are a variety of sizes all with generous ensuite facilities.
Externally the gardens contain a combination of native species seeding and shrub planting at the peripheries, wildlife boxes together with more decorative annual planting that changes with the seasons.
